Product Detail

A great many of the sandstone formations contain some type of clay within its matrix and when a foreign fluid such as a completion fluid is introduced into the formation there is a potential for damage to those clays. Salts such as potassium chloride (KCl), ammonium chloride (NH4Cl) and sodium chloride (NaCl) are used in water-base systems to protect the formation clays. However, in most cases, a salt solution alone cannot provide the protection that is needed. Therefore, a chemical clay stabilizer is needed.
